Places to eat

We are very lucky to have some great places to eat close by – here are just some suggestions –

The Bull’s Head at Boreham Street (BN27 4SG) – this traditional local pub is just 100 metres down the road. It has recently won CAMRA’s Country Pub of the Year for the South East.  It serves very good food and Harvey’s traditional Sussex ales – there should be a current menu in the snug (there is also a specials board).  There are often cultural and social events happening there too.  bullsheadborehamstreet.co.uk

The Lamb Inn at Wartling (BN27 1RY) – another excellent pub which is only 1 mile away. The food is very good and again they serve Harvey’s ales. lambinnwartling.co.uk

The Ash Tree Inn at Ashburnham (TN33 9NX) – a lovely old 17th century Inn set in the tiny parish of Ashburnham. A free house offering hospitality and good home cooked food and only a couple of miles away from Boreham House. ashtreeinn.com

The Sundial Restaurant at Herstmonceux (BN27 4LA) – this chic French restaurant is just a couple of miles away. They offer set menus as well as a la carte and they have a civil wedding licence. sundialrestaurant.co.uk

Trattoria Italiana (TN40 1AX) – a lovely Italian restaurant in Bexhill, about 20 minutes’ drive away. trattoriaitaliana.co.uk

Rocksalt (TN40 1BP) – a fairly new bar and restaurant that has live music at the weekends. Again about 20 minutes away in Bexhill.  They have a no booking policy facebook.com/rocksaltonsea

Raipur (BN24 6HL) – this is our favourite Indian restaurant! It can be found in Pevensey Bay, about 15 minutes’ drive from here. raipurcuisine.co.uk

Places can get quite booked up so we do suggest booking ahead where you can.  We are happy to make any reservations for you.

Tea Rooms

Scolfes (BN27 4SF) – this is opening in the Autumn of 2016 and will be a great asset to the village, being a two minute walk up the road from Boreham House.  Ian and Jenny will be offering breakfast, lunch and teas.

Badgers Tea House (BN26 5UG) – this well known tea rooms is in Alfriston, a very pretty village, and about 14 miles from Boreham Street. badgersteahouse.com

Mrs Burton’s restaurant and tea rooms (TN33 0AE) – tea rooms in Battle, just 6 miles away and near Battle Abbey, that serve breakfast, lunch and teas mrsburtons.co.uk
